Why Mystics Don't Travel Well

Citizen Costin-U-MOR writes: http://thetyee.ca/News/2007/04/23/Feldmar/.

Seems like you could find yourself barred from the simplest access (maybe to that all important briefing room) by something you inferred you might have possibly done years (or several clones ago). Quite a worry that you might do something for the public good (like checking out these fine pharmaceutical supplements, citizen) only to find you can no longer get access to Sector USA, where they happen to take a dim view of people who take drugs...

I wonder if you can buy new past histories on C-Bay, backgrounds that do not contain such chemical abuses. Of course, these new histories might contain...other problems.

Mongoose News. Ish. More Rumour, Really.

The latest update from my Corporate Overlords at Mongoose Publishing is that, due to a quirk of the new printing press they're using, they can't currently do 32-page books. Instead, apparently, they plan to combine The Sweep of Unhistory and My First Treason into a single stately 64-page book. The exact format and title of this product have yet to be determined, or at least, yet to be revealed to me.

The PARANOIA applicability of technical issues forcing two entirely separate but utterly vital pieces of equipment to be combined into a single entity is left as an exercise to the reader.

Good News, Everyone

Citizen Varney draws my attention to this news from Paranoia-Live.net.

Biggles-V-DEA-2 decanting in Q4. To quote from the report, Executive Cloning Vats, Subsector H-3, PLN Sector - Biggles-V-DEA-1, the popular, feared and sometimes confused Chief of Security for PLN Sector, announced this morning the impending arrival of his first clone, Biggles-V-DEA-2. However, in a stunning move, the clone will not be forced-grown into adulthood and kept frozen for when a replacement is needed. Instead, Biggles-V-DEA-2 will be decanted as a Day Zero clone, also known as a 'baby'. This is a term for a clone who will be grown the unnatural way--without any help from The Computer.

Citizen Biggles was responsible for the Criminal Histories supplement, among many other distinguished contributions. Commendation points all round!

From the Free Enterprise Infilitration Files

Allen sent this to me with a note attached saying "This Canadian manifesto about "Venture Communism" appears not to be an April Fool's joke; it's dated 2005. It seems vonderful ideal idea to be broadcastink to glorious comrades seekink greater ties vith longtime enemies in Free Enterprise."

Having taken a look at WhatIsVentureCommunism myself, I'm honestly not sure either - but any page that combines "Venture Communism is an investment model designed to be a form of revolutionary worker's struggle. The Venture Commune is a type of voluntary worker's association, designed to enclose the productivity of labour and enable the possibility of the collective accumulation of Land and Capital, which, in the endgame, will eventually allow the workers to buy the entire world from the Capitalists." with a wonderfully 80s layout makes good PARANOIA-fodder.

Team 8, who run demos of various games including, of course, PARANOIA have a free mission here.

The next Mongoose-published missions, Sweep of Unhistory and My First Treason should be showing up in the wild soonish. Report any sighting here!

At our discretion, and without obligation, we may, if it strikes our fancy, make a good faith effort to credit you for stuff we use, but we can't promise it won't slip our minds, in the hurly-burly of meeting deadlines. (Actually, we intend to do that, but it's possible we'll screw up.) By posting comments, you grant us a non-revocable, perpetual, non-exclusive license to use whatever you post, in whatsoever fashion we deem useful, here or in any other forum, in PARANOIA or in any and all future products, including but not limited to derivative works, and specifically but not exclusively including the microbrewery beer, ale and porter; salty and sugary snack; and tattoo design rights deriving therefrom.
