Several games for Internet-enabled cellphones, including Void Raider and mConq, both of which should be live soon. Void Raier was previously operated by Unplugged Games (a wireless game company I co-founded); I also did a number of other wireless games for them, including Rags2Riches and Word Trader, but they're no longer available.

Command the forces of an entire nation in the fantastic world of Adav in this online-only game of world conquest. Playble in "blitz" (turn update every few minutes) and "epic" (turn update once per day) modes. Heroes, monsters, magic, diplomacy, and the clash of arms. Unfortunately, the game is no longer live. Developed by Crossover Technologies, Inc. for The Station@Sony.Com. Contributing design by John Astell and Aaron Allston. (1999, Sony Online Entertainment). Design notes are available on this site.
Simple, fast loading website that finds the cross-street and nearest subway stop for addresses in Manhattan. Implemented in Javascript (1.1., so it'll work in 3.0 browsers and on up).
The Manhattan yellow pages contains a page that provides an algorithm for determining the cross-street from an avenue address; my web site does the same, but is better because:
It gives you the nearest subway stop as well as cross-street
It works for addresses on streets as well as avenues
It works for named streets and south of 8th street
It does the calculation for you, and
You don't have to wander around wondering where the goddamn yellow pages are.
If you live in or visit New York, you may find it useful; it's at www.manhattanaddress.com.

Evolution is a real-time strategy game spanning 360 million years of the planet's history. You start with one of the first amphibians to crawl out onto land; your goal is to evolve the first intelligent species (which doesn't have to be homo sapiens). Up to five opponents (computer AIs or live players) are trying to do the same, using their predators to attack your creatures, trying to crowd you out of prime feeding areas, and trying to evolve key species on the Tree of Life before you do. I get to use my geology degree for the fist time since I left college; continents collide and split, mountains rise and fall, glaciers advance and retreat, and occasional disasters--asteroid impacts, volcanism, nearby supernovae--cause widespread extinction. Developed by Crossover Technologies, published by Discovery Channel Multimedia, and distributed by Interplay.

Reinventing America is a game of Congressional decision-making that ran (twice) on the Internet, each time for a period of six months. Thousands of players examine every major function of the federal government, and decided: what is justified? What should be abolished? And where should we do more?
Reinventing America was produced by Crossover Technologies and sponsored by the John R. and Mary Markle Foundation, a public policy nonprofit. No longer available.
A making-of-the-movie CD-ROM, Behind the Mask does more than simply provide lots of video, interviews with the stars and production folks, the complete text of the screenplay, the storyboards, production photos, and sneak previews of the The Mask cartoon and The Mask II; it ties it all together in a coherent way to show you how the movie was made. Watch as Industrial Light and Magic turns raw footage into spectacular special effects; try your hand as a Foley artist in the Sound Studio; see and hear how sound designers create impressive sound effects.
It's probably hard to find, now, as it's been several years since it was released. Published by Crossover Technologies and New Line New Media, and distributed by Turner Home Entertainment.
The first online game to attract more than a million players,
MadMaze has existed on the Prodigy network since 1989. I co-authored it
with Eric
Goldberg. It died in October 99, when the old proprietary Prodigy service closed down,
but a Web version can be found here.
A couple of little things available here:
JavaScript RPG Die-Roller
Peg Solitaire: A freeware implementation of the classic Peg Solitaire game. It's a 400 something zip file; unzip everything to the same directory, and double-click to play.
