Bible Fight
The Most Sacrilegious Game EverAccording to Kim Pallister, Microsoft's casual game guy. (Except that he spelled it sacreligious, but never mind.) Bible Fight is a straightforward Streetfighter-style game, in which you and your opponent (either controlled by the computer or by someone else whanging on the other side of the keyboard) punch and kick each other until one or the other achieves victory. As with other games of this style, there are a variety of characters, each of whom has his own combo moves that do extra damage, if you can hit the right key combination quickly enough. Except that--the characters are Mary, Eve, Jesus, Moses, Noah, and Satan. And the special moves are things like Mary's Halo Toss, and Jesus's Loaves and Fishes.  In the image above, Moses is hurling a Tablet of Laws into Jesus. (Note the parted seas in the background--you can choose from a variety of Biblical settings.) Original game design? We think not. Hilarious? Yes. And designed by Pop&Co, formerly PopNYC, one of New York's preeminent digital design firms. Go, Vincent.

To be honest, this made me sad.
To be honest, it makes me sad that this makes people sad.
The idea that long cultural roots somehow give anything a free pass to not be parodied is almost as silly as this game.
Hmm, cool character names.
Why not really take a step and have a game where Jesus beats the snot out of Mohammed ? I mean what are they afraid of ?
I respect that others may not beleive as I do.

Anyway, I have to agree with Anonymous. As an atheist I am bored of seeing Jesus and crew being parodied. If satirists really want to get edgy let's see some Muhammad mocking games. Of course, the same net-liberals who love this sort of thing will hate that, because being offensive to Muslims is not OK, (and would probably brand the makers of such a game as hate-filled rednecks) but being offensive to Christians is. To (mis?)quote South Park "Either it's not OK to make fun of anything, or it's ok to make fun of everything".
This looks like it's even more fun than Bible Blaster

What disturbed me more was the 'Five minutes to kill your self game' right below it
My most scathing comment is not that it is sacreligious, but that the programming must be junk.
After all, character attributes are not taken into account. Anything Jesus could do to an opposing character would *increase* their stamina gauge. Jesus would have a move to let him turn the other cheek. In the end, though, opponents to Jesus would have some trouble beating him. Jesus would just keep on getting back up again after his gauge reached zero, and eventually he would ascend into heaven and be untouchable.
Yeah, the programming of the character attributes on this one must've been junk.
10 points for effort, negative 10 points for the end result equals a rating I call "craptastic."
