Play This Thing More Authoritative than Games * Design * Art * Culture
Yay. Per Technorati, Play This Thing (which I guess counts as "my other blog," although it's really a group blog and less than half the posts are mine) now has an authority of 122, while this blog had an authority of 98. I have no idea how they count that, but I guess blogging daily (well, 5 times a week) helps rack up the points.

Actually I think technorati's 'authority' rating is measured almost entirely on how many other blogs link to yours.
I see that the PARANOIA development blog, which you host, has a munificent authority of 10. Oh well.
well, it's a great blog, but i just can't make myself head. So I'll scream here, maybe someone will hear me: MORE SCREENSHOTS, PLEEEEAAASE!!
Well, over the years, this blog has had many more links to it than Play This Thing has yet got. And it does seem like authority goes up a point every day there's a new post, even without any links that Technorati knows about--and I just noticed it dropped a point over the weekend, when we don't update. So I suspect frequency of posts has an influence, though no doubt links in also do.
As for screenshots... Yar, well... Keep in mind that PTT is basically done in my spare time. I can do it because I'm adding two new games to the Manifesto Games site every week, and generally at least one is worth reviewing on PTT, and I've already played it and have something to say; add in some other games I encounter in the course of a week, and some contributions from others, and I'm golden, maybe 5 hours out of the week.
Finding and editing images--and in some cases, when writers' don't supply them, playing the games and grabbing screenshots--is actually one of the more time-consuming aspects.
Then, I'd have to do something with Drupal 'galleries' and write some custom PHP to provide a 'screenshots' link in the game info area on each game page...
Mmm... No.
Although come to think of it, I could have a 'screenshots' link as optional, and link to them on the Manifesto site when they exist, and to the developer's site if they supply them... I'll have to think about that.
